how am i doing?

[poem text: there have been some rough spots (eons where the dagger twists a fraction and the red rush of life within me remembers it's channeling around this blade embedded in my chest) (and all of me remembers) (and all i am is pain) other than that, i'm doing well] Originally written 2.18.2018

[ poem text: like rising for the national anthem i stand at the window breakfast paused in hand as my neighbor backs his Camaro out of his garage ] There's a sense of pride and gratitude that one can feel in such moments.
